Running

I just realized why I enjoy running so much. In running, I can put one foot in front of the other, letting my thoughts wander and not thinking about anything. In most other sports you need to pay attention. I am very prone to ramble, whether in thoughts or in speech, so those sports just don't work for me. I remember one soccer game that I played at ELDB (Spanish camp) during which I (as defense) stood by the goal and thought about how one could tell time at all hours with out a watch until the ball came toward me, disrupting this train of thought. I kicked the ball very hard and fell on my butt, but it got it away from the goal. I was only ten or so at the time and not very interested in soccer. I kind of want to try playing it now as it seems fun and watching the world cup games is fun but I think I'll stick to running and just watching soccer.

yes! go uncoordinated people! i have had much the same experience sally, i was the little girl on t-ball who sat in the outfield picking dandelions. and now i'm a huge baseball fan but i still can't play it to save my life. running/swimming is good because it helps you organize/calm your thoughts-it's like meditation. or maybe i'm just weird. one of the two.

Ah yes, good old running. Although now, I'm getting kind of frustrated because I can't go the same distances that I did during the CC season. I guess track spoiled, in a way.

That's why being uncoordinated is sooooooooooooooooooooo much fun! And when i did play soccer, I was goalie since well it didn't involve running with a ball and not getting it taken away from you and still moving down the feild and you can't forget having to watch where everyone else is while doin that. Instead being goalie I just have to watch the ball and then grab it and go into the fetal position and then punt it super far. That's so much easier. Oh and you can never forget being able to do diving catches, those are so much to slame into the dirt afterwards!

Yeah! To me running should be at a conversational pace rather than those sprints and long distances that I do. I also enjoy running a lot more when it's not over concrete or asphalt; god they tear up your feet quick.

Not a big fan of treadmills either...
