Help me make a list of speculative poetry markets! I've got Goblin Fruit, Mythic Delirium, Stone Telling, Through the Gate, Strange Horizons, inkscrawl. What others can you think of?
Oh, sorry, Carus Publishing. They put out the children's magazines Cicada, Cricket, Spider, Ladybug, Babybug, Muse, and a few others I can't remember right now, each with a different age group. They can have long response times and equally long lead times for publication, but they pay well and are nice to work with.
Here are the submissions guidelines for Cicada: http://www.cricketmag.com/22-Submission-Guidelines-for-CICADA-magazine-for-teens-ages-14+
Don't think Muse or its equivalents for younger subscribers take poetry. It is more of a science/history/art magazine. (It is fantastic, though.) Babybug, Ladybug, Spider, Cricket, and Cicada would, I suppose. I don't know about the ones for younger kids, though.
Thanks for the suggestion! I knew Cicada took stories; I didn't know it also took poems.
