October Points

It is October, month of Autumn air, wind, falling brightly colored leaves and October Points.

I've taken a couple walks in the leaves thus far, one of which involved a cat. One of these was to the graveyard, to look at leaves and stones. Things have been feeling a bit un-autumnal due to the heat but I hope to catch up on autumnal weather and October points over fall break next week.

I have no October points, as I don't really feel like I can count my normal walks when it's 80 degrees out. Will have to do something about that.

Are you coming home for fall break? Fallcon is this weekend.

Conjecture is a relaxacon, which basically means that we hang out and talk and game and so on. Historically there's been a nature walk and astronomy. (I guess they have a programming schedule in advance this year, and both of those are still on it.)

It's in the hotel where the first Forth Street was, and pretty much everybody registers at the door.

Hmm. Sounds like it'd be fun. Perhaps I will appear; perhaps not. That'd be right when I'd be getting home but I'd have perhaps a bit of time for it.

Why do you tell aliseadae such lies? There is one fewer pumpkin muffin than there was when I went to bed, and markgritter doesn't eat them.

Making pumpkin muffins is my only October Point activity so far.

I have very few October Points because it feels more like September here. Also it's a new place so my season-senses are off. But it's gorgeous. (I attempted pictures this morning, one of them may have worked.)

Although the entirety of Mountain Day probably got me quite a few, come to think of it. Hopefully it'll be more autumnal when I get back to campus.

They do it in Fire and Hemlock by Diana Wynne Jones, so it must be true.

cucumberseed is correct. They are points gathered in October when you do autumnal or spooky or goblin-y things. lex_of_green invented them.
