I enjoy balanced days, where each bit is spent doing something different or productive but each bit is enjoyable in its own way.

Today was like that.

This early afternoon I spent with my brother. He helped me record and it was cool to see his equipment. I know he likes music and writing his own and recording it and I liked to learn more about the settings on it and what he can do with it. We also exchanged music a bit and that was good.

After that, stagnola came over and we beaded! Beading with her is always good and I have some shiny new earrings.

This evening I finally got to watch X-Men: First Class and that was a rather fun movie. I loved all the Xavier/Magneto moments.

Now I've been sitting and reading and such. It is nice to spend time in quiet.

"Down by the Water" is one of my favorites from that album. What a great day you had--each of the activities sounds like so much fun.

Mm! I only got the album yesterday and I'm enjoying it. Each album by the Decemberists is so different and yet they are all clearly from the same band.

Sounds like a nice day to me! I do think being productive in multiple ways is indeed the best way to enjoy the day.

If you want to go see it, you'd better hurry unless you want to see it in the cheap theatre. It was barely in the theatres last week, and now it is even more rare to find it in a theatre this week. I only saw it this late because I was in Chile when it came out.
