Links: Microaggressions is important to look at but makes me frustrated with the things people say. Jaded16india is awesome.

I wonder sometimes if I really need to be doing something constantly. I tend to get this feeling of "I'm not doing anything productive. What can I be doing that is productive?" But sitting and reading a book is also productive and relaxing at the same time. I do get restless, though, over break and also now, when I have some readings but I haven't gotten papers assigned yet. Maybe I need projects. I dunno. It isn't that my days aren't productive as a whole. Most days I write and that is productive. Now I have homework again so working on that gets things done. I just feel like I'm in a very big open room that is not cosy. I like it when I have enough things to do that the space I'm sitting in seems cosy but not crowded or cramped.

On that note, I began [livejournal.com profile] papersky's Lifelode yesterday and I'm enjoying it immensely so far.

What are your favorite webcomics/webcomics you think I might like? I might want to start reading more of them, particularly those with intriguing story lines.

I don't know what you'd like, so here are some general favorites of mine. They're all relatively new discoveries of mine:

A softer world. VERY funny, very little plot. http://www.asofterworld.com/

Red String. A bit girly for most people, but I love the story as well as the characters and art style. http://www.redstring.strawberrycomics.com/

Wonderella. Just plain funny, but my dad doesn't get it. http://nonadventures.com/

Gennerkrigg Court is all sorts of amazing. I got Lex hooked on that a while ago; it was my Good Deed for that month.

I very much like Kate Beaton's "Hark! A Vagrant." The last few have been kind of meh, but I liked this one, from around Christmas time, and here's her funny take on Robinson Crusoe.

I also really like Dinosaur Comics. The art is the same each time, but the text changes.

Although I don't read it regularly, Wondermark is often funny. One I really liked was this one.

You can read "Hark! A Vagrant" on LJ--Kate Beaton is [livejournal.com profile] beatonna, and if you friend her, the comics will appear on your friends list.

I can definitely understand the feeling of wanting to be productive, which is why I am always in the state of being in a lot of extra-curriculars. Why don't you try making something simple right now? That way, you'll finish it by the time that things do start picking up.

Oh goodness. Webcomics. I haven't read those for several months. I better catch up now... but I like Girls with Slingshots which is a slice of life comic about a woman and her unability to get a date or a job, her friends, and a talking Irish-Mexican cacti. On paper, this really doesn't sound that remarkable, but I think that this comic is absolutely hilarious.

Have you read a href="http://hanna.aftertorque.com/">Hanna is not a Boy's Name yet? Tessa Stone updates this webcomic sporadically (similar to my own pattern of reading webcomics) but it is wonderful. It's about a paranormal investigator who befriends a nameless zombie and their crazy investigations.

Someone else recommended "Hark a Vangrant", and I also really enjoy that web comic too for all of the history in-jokes.

I adore Gunerkrigg Court. One that's coming to an end, but is amazing (and will give you a lot of stuff to dig through) is Digger. What is not to love about wombats, dead gods, and a whole bunch of complex cultural stuff?

http://www.diggercomic.com/?p=3 will take you to the first comic, so you can avoid spoilers.

Big +1 to Digger.

Though it's done now, I really liked Friendly Hostility.

Though it's rarely narrative, Medium Large is occasionally funnier than any other comic I've read. For some reason today's, which is very illustrative, isn't on the front page of the website now, but you can see it here.

This is not a webcomic rec comment (although it is a +1 to Digger, read it now, you might get caught up by the time it ends!), but a Yay Lifelode! comment. I adore that book, I would have read it fifty times by now if I weren't afraid of wearing it out. <3
