So Scott Walker took out all the financial bits of his bill and passed it through as for non financial bills they don't need quorum. This is ridiculous. If I think too hard about what has been going on, I get either overly angry or overly sad and neither is particularly productive. And if I get overly sad, I get angry at Scott Walker for affecting my mood so much. But it frustrates me that he can see the thousands of people protesting for days and just wave them off and keep lying and saying it is about the budget when now he used that loophole to pass all the non-budget parts. I wish he were actually doing the right thing. I wish he just seemed misguided and not malicious.

And I keep thinking of Gandalf's quote if I get too upset.

'I wish it need not have happened in my time,' said Frodo.
'So do I,' said Gandalf, 'and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.'

On the other hand, Frodo's need phrasing doesn't apply to this situation. Scott Walker didn't need to do what he did.

Aside from everything else, passing bills without quorum takes away the right of citizens to have a say. Citizens who are represented by those who were not at the Wisconsin capitol cannot have their say because their representative was not given the chance to vote. It pisses me off that Scott Walker weaseled his bill through without a full quorum, especially after how long the protests have been going. That does not seem fair at all. He doesn't listen to the people of Wisconsin, the people he's supposed to be caring for.

That doesn't seem like democracy. I am really angry about this, but I don't know what I can do, if voting no longer guarantees that the government will listen to all representatives. If thousands of people can protest for weeks and not be heard.
