I would like to know what you thought about The End of Time parts one and two, if you have seen it by now. If you have not yet seen it but are planning on seeing it soon, I would like to know what you think about it once you do.

I really liked the way the Doctor died. The instrument of his demise was pretty unexpected, at least to me.

The only thing that bugged me was the way the Doctor set the TARDIS on fire with his regeneration. ...What was the deal with that?

What bothers me is Matt Smith. I thought maybe after seeing him as the Doctor I would like it better. Nope, I still don't like him. He's too young. From the preview video, it seems they're trying to make it into the same sort of dynamics as Torchwood and that isn't what Doctor Who is.

We've just got to give him a chance. We've honestly only seen about two minutes of him in his role as the Doctor. The trailer for season five showed us tiny snippets of him; really nothing that we should judge him by. Given a little bit of time, I think he'll be okay. Until we actually see season five and the Doctor's new persona, we need to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Mm. I am waiting until I see more of him to decide further but from what I've seen, I do not like him.

It took me until the second episode of series 2 to warm up to Ten.

I re-watched the trailer and my new thoughts are:

I like the bow tie. I don't like his hair. He's too young.

I thought the Doctor's death was fitting, but I didn't like the episodes. (The first one had a good sense of the ridiculous; second one was all over the place.)

I wasn't a terribly big fan of them, although I at least liked them better than Waters of Mars (which I watched right before). I was as always slightly annoyed with planets appearing in the sky (seriously, it happens all the time in SJA too... or moons hurtling towards earth... or other massive objects which would probably tear the earth apart...), and I thought some of it was... just... kind of too over the top.

I still almost cried at the ending though. Especially the bit with Rose. I'm confused as to how Martha is now married to Mickey, when she used to be engaged to the one other guy, too... and as always sad about Donna.

I don't like Matt Smith either. On the other hand, I didn't like Tennant for about half a season, and I also briefly didn't like the 3rd Doctor or the 5th Doctor. I think I'll have to reserve judgement for reals until the end of this new season.
