Jan. 1st, 2010 11:30 pmI've been watching things this break. I've seen (not necessarily in order nor necessarily everything I've seen) Iron Man (for the second time), Sherlock Holmes, The End of Time parts one and two, seven episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender (no spoilers please; I'm still not done with the show), Fantastic Mr. Fox, and probably something else or more than one other thing that I've forgotten about. I'd like to hear what those of you who've seen any one or any combination of these think of the ones you've seen. I like discussing movies and shows and such with people.
My family and I went to go see Fantastic Mr. Fox today. It put me in an autumnal writing mood. The movie itself was quite good and it was visually full of oranges and reds and autumnal hues. I am sitting here now with spice tea and an apple. I have sent a couple poems off for comments (if you have not received them and would like to comment on poems in the future, tell me so!), which is satisfying in some ways. What would be more satisfying would be to finish a story. I know that I can write poems and write poems that I like and consider to be good poems. I know that I can finish one draft of these poems. I know that I can take a look at that draft and see places to change and make it better. I don't know if I can do this with stories. I want to write stories. I have many stories I want to tell. I've stopped in the middle of so many of them, though. I need to find a way to finish that first draft, then edit that draft, then make it bigger and better. First, I'd like to know that I can be a story writer as well as a poem writer.
