Feb. 12th, 2009 08:30 pmThis person's house and blog seem awesome. blog: http://intothehermitage.blogspot.com/ photos of house: http://community.livejournal.com/saucydwellings/1516103.html#cutid1
I have been reading Little, Big lately. I have also been doodling things and occasionally writing things.
The house and blog and Little, Big seem along sort of similar lines. I would appreciate being given a link to any art you have found that seems similar. Fairy tale creatures and Rackham style things are lovely.
I found links to old color photographs. They are very strange to look at with their juxtaposition of color that looks like yesterday and the realization that it was 100 years ago.
Also. Does anyone have any recommendation of sea shanties or music like the Decemberists? Nicolai, I'd like some of your Stan Rodgers sometime.

Date: 2009-02-14 04:31 am (UTC)I went to Scotland over the summer and on our last day, we came across this little café that had been converted from an old gypsy caravan...or was it an old tram car? In any case, the girl who manned the shop lived in the caravan, and the owners lived in a sod house not far behind it. They had built a yurt for customers to sit in if it rained. It was all very out of the way and just a short walk from some Pictish ruins. I wish I could go back! I imagine that your artist would be quite at home there :)
(There's a picture or two here, if you're interested!)
